MSHN Community Mental Health Service Program Participants

Mid-State Health Network is a regional entity, formed collaboratively by participating Community Mental Health Service Programs (CMHSP).  MSHN holds agreements with the CMHSP Participants to deliver Medicaid funded specialty behavioral health services in their local areas, so the twelve CMHSP Participants also comprise MSHN’s Provider Network. Each CMHSP Participant in turn directly operates or enters subcontracts for the delivery of services, or some combination thereof. The CMHSP Participants for the 21 county region include:


MSHN Substance Use Disorder Provider Network

Mid-State Health Network is pleased to partner with Substance Use Disorder (SUD) prevention and treatment service providers that offer an array of services throughout its 21-county region including:

  • Prevention - interventions offered in a variety of settings intended to prevent or reduce the risk of developing a behavioral health problem such as underage alcohol use, prescription drug misuse and abuse, and illicit drug use.  
  • Early Intervention - a specifically focused treatment program including stage-based intervention for individuals with substance use disorders as identified through a screening or assessment process including individuals who may not meet the threshold of abuse or dependence
  • Withdrawal Management (detox) - services providing safe withdrawal from the drug(s) of dependence consisting of three components: evaluation, stabilization, and fostering client readiness for and entry into treatment.
  • Residential - programs that focus on helping clients change their behaviors in a planned and structured setting.  Length of stay varies based upon the client's level of care needs.
  • Recovery Supports - programs designed to support and promote recovery and prevent relapse through supportive services that result in the knowledge and skills necessary for an individual’s recovery. Peer Recovery programs are designed and delivered primarily by individuals in recovery and offer social, emotional, and/or educational supportive services to help prevent relapse and promote recovery
  • Outpatient and Intensive Outpatient - services delivered in a variety of settings where addiction treatment staff provide professionally-directed screening, evaluation, treatment, and ongoing recovery and disease management.
  • Medication Assisted Treatment - the use of FDA approved medications, in combination with counseling and behavioral therapies. 
  • Women's Specialty Services - services offered by providers who are designated by MDHHS as gender-responsive, gender-competent and promote equality in treatment and outcomes for men and women.
